Community Involvement
We have four years experience of community involvement and have designed courses to give people from all sectors of the community an insight into how food can contribute to healthier lifestyles. The work is concentrated on short courses teaching participants about healthy eating and lifestyles. Participants range from 5 to 85 years old and come from all social and cultural backgrounds.

Partner agencies identify a group of clients and we design the course around the needs identified. The courses usually consist of 2 hour sessions held weekly for a six to eight week period, and cover budgeting for food, food hygiene and safety, and safe storage of food. Designed to allow people with little or no cooking skills to access the basic training needed, the courses also allow more experienced cooks to learn new skills and gain more ideas about healthier lifestyles.
