Pizza Dough & Pizza Topping
750 grams Strong Flour
2 teaspoons of salt
25 grams of fat - either oil or butter or margarine
1 sachet of fast action yeast
450ml of warm water
Mix the flour & salt. Then rub in the fat.
Add yeast and mix well.
Add the warm water and knead for 5-10 minutes to form a soft elastic dough (like blue tack).
Place in a warm place to rise - 30-60 minutes (depending on temperature and yeast).
Knead well and form pizza bases.
Place on a floured baking tray.
Top with pizza topping and your choice of vegetables and/ or meat and cheese.
Bake for 10-15 minutes in a hot oven, or until crust is golden.
Pizza Topping
1 can of chopped tomatoes
1 onion diced
1 pepper diced
Big squirt of tomato puree
1 teaspoon of sugar
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder or a fresh garlic clove
Heat all the ingredients in a pan and bring to the boil until soft.
Blend with a hand blender until a thick sauce is formed.
